Cybersecurity Crash Course
If you are an IT pro who needs an introduction to information security, then Dark Reading's Cybersecurity Crash Course is for you. Taught by recognized experts in security, the Crash Course offers two days of education in a supportive, safe, and intimate setting where there are no dumb questions. We'll cover the fundamental concepts you need to understand today's security challenges and the attack landscape. You'll get insights into the key steps every organization should take to protect critical data, as well as a detailed look at how to respond when your systems have been compromised. Our goal is to make you "security savvy" by giving you the basics you need to understand the threats and responses, while at the same time updating you on the latest threats.
DevOps Foundation Certification
Take advantage of this two-day program, presented by the DevOps Institute, which allows attendees to earn a DevOps Foundation Certification at no additional cost. The 16-hour course provides an introduction to DevOps, the cultural and professional movement that stresses communication, collaboration, integration, and automation in order to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT operations professionals. At the end of the course, attendees will receive a code allowing them to take the online test free of charge, on their own time. Please note that students must attend both full days of the course in order to be eligible to take the test.

Today's enterprises are focused on digital business, transformation, and disruption – concepts that sound cool but are achievable only with a strong and resilient network infrastructure, the foundation that enables companies, employees, systems, and machines to instantly communicate. Enterprises must modernize their networks to support these ever-increasing demands while still ensuring core functionality and often supporting legacy systems, meaning that the networking professionals building and maintaining the environment must expand their skillsets yet excel at fundamentals. This two-day program will explore how today's networking practitioners must adapt to meet the needs of modern businesses, the skills most important to career success, and how to prepare for challenges as the networking profession continues to evolve.
Security Pro Summit
If you're an experienced security professional looking for advanced education, the Security Pro Summit produced by the editors of Dark Reading provides a deep dive into cybersecurity threats and the latest methods for detecting and responding to them. At the Security Pro Summit, attendees will go beyond cybersecurity basics to learn about emerging vulnerabilities and exploits, as well as practical, usable methods for detecting and responding to online attacks in an enterprise. Attendees will not only gain insight from top experts on the latest threats and potential security flaws but also will get insight into how security teams can handle these critical issues and learn about tools and best practices they need to mitigate them.
Deep Dive Packet Analysis with Wireshark
Every day, companies struggle with finger pointing when it comes to resolving application performance and security issues. Time after time, it comes down to digging through the data packets traveling across the network to find out exactly what's happening. This hands-on, full-day workshop will focus on how to capture the right packets using the free and open source packet analyzer Wireshark, and what to do with those packets once they are captured.
GitHub and DevOps 101
Git, repositories, commits, branches, and CI/CD – whether these are new terms for you, or you already know your way around Git(Hub) – come and learn how to use this platform, and how to integrate it with other services to automate code testing, building, and deployment. Get some hands-on experience to easily grasp fundamental DevOps concepts. In this workshop, we will start with an empty folder and end up with a system for validating and deploying changes to get our content to production cloud. You will learn about Git, version control principles, containerized services, and basics of continuous integration and delivery.
Moving Quickly to AWS
Hybrid cloud workload shift is happening and you are left holding the shovel. Is this you? You may be a network, storage, system, or virtualization operator who is running an on-premises data center and you've been informed that your company is moving to cloud. You're responsible for making this happen, yesterday. This workshop provides a no-nonsense roadmap of how to survive the next few months moving to Amazon Web Services Cloud. We'll help you figure out what makes sense to move and explain the common challenges you may encounter and how to address them. Although we will focus on AWS, the rules of the road are the same for Azure and Google Cloud Platform and the services they provide.
