Conference Call: PR Opportunities and Best Practices at Interop
The PR and Marketing teams will conduct a call for all Interop New York 2010 exhibitors to discuss marketing and public relations benefits for the event. This call will take place Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET. Please join us by using this dial-in: 800-738-1032.
PR Strategy and Counsel
The Interop PR team is available to assist you with any questions or issues you may have regarding your PR strategy before or during the event, including tips on contacting press and analysts, as well as PR advice based on industry events and topics at Interop that will be of interest. Inclusion in Official Interop Press Release
Interop offers an amazing audience to target for your company’s new product or service announcement, and no other IT infrastructure event brings the same impressive and accessible blend of press, analysts, exhibitors and attendees together. Interop attendees are influential IT professionals who come to see the spectrum of technologies, products and solutions in one place so they can make more informed purchasing decisions.
If your company is planning on making an announcement at Interop New York 2010, we can help you increase the exposure through an October 11th press release detailing exhibitor announcements at the event. To be included in this opportunity, exhibitors can fill out the “Announce Your New Product” form in the Interop New York Exhibitor Center, under the PR & Co-Marketing Opportunities Tasks section. (PR agencies will need login information from your client to access the Exhibitor Center). If you would like to participate in this opportunity but not release specific details of your announcement, we can also accommodate you.
The deadline for inclusion is Friday, October 1. Submissions may not exceed 50 words.
Meeting Rooms for Media Briefings
Beginning September 20th, meeting rooms can be reserved in half-hour or one-hour increments for exhibitors who have secured meetings with press/analysts during the event. When pre-reservation requests open in September, a contact email and more information on what to include in your request will be provided.
The last day to pre-reserve a room is October 14th. After this date room reservations can be made on a first-come-first-serve basis at the event.
The meeting rooms are located inside the Media Center. Information on the location of the Media Center and Media Center hours will be updated soon.
The Media Center may only be used by registered exhibitors, representatives, press and analysts. For each meeting, one attendee must be registered as media (journalist/analyst/blogger) and the other must be a registered exhibitor.
Media Briefing Hours of Availability:
Tuesday, Oct. 19: 12:00-5:00 pm
Wednesday, Oct. 20: 8:00 am-6:00 pm
Thursday, Oct. 21: 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Exhibitor Press Collateral Area
Exhibitors can leave their press kits in the Media Center beginning the first day of the event, October 18, 2010. There will be an area for press kits, or any other special items you'd like to make available to the media in attendance. CD's, jump drives and other creative company information is always appreciated.
Access to the Media List
The Interop New York media list will be available for exhibitors beginning Friday, September 17, 2010. This list will give you the opportunity to coordinate on-site interviews and meetings with attending press, analysts and bloggers prior to the event.
In order to access the media list on this date, please login to the Exhibitor Center and search for the PR/Marketing Opportunities tab. There you will find the task to "Download the media list." Once available, the media list will be updated each Friday leading up to the event.
*PR agencies will need to obtain login information to the Exhibitor Center from their client for access to the press list.*
Guide to Engaging the Media
Develop an effective media relations strategy for the event using the Guide to Engaging the Media, which provides recommendations for organizing media relations efforts at Interop New York.
Press Release Guidelines
Interop owns its brands and content and must approve any third party use of its brands and content. If you plan to write a press release about your exhibitor announcement, sponsorship, or other activities around the event, follow these guidelines:
- Event boilerplate should be included in the press release (see boilerplate below).
- The date and location of the event should be included in the first paragraph: Interop New York 2010 is happening October 18-22 at the Javits Convention Center.
- If you would like to include a quote from Interop GM, Lenny Heymann, send your release and suggested quote for review and approval to Interop PR Specialist, Joylyn Tanner at . Please allow 24-48 hours turnaround time.
