As Vice President, Client Services at mindSHIFT Technologies, Bob Lamendola is responsible for delivering network infrastructure solutions for clients. Bob’s role includes directing the teams responsible for designing the client solution to meet specifications, architecting its implementation and delivering the final product on time and on budget.

Before joining mindSHIFT in 2002, Mr. Lamendola served as CIO at General Semiconductor and as Vice President of Information Technology for the Power Diodes Division of Vishay Intertechnology. He had global management and budget responsibility for all of General Semiconductor’s network operations, infrastructure and enterprise applications.

Mr. Lamendola is a graduate of Bloomsburg University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science.

Ed Basart co-founded ShoreTel in 1996. He is responsible for the long-range direction of ShoreTel's product research and development. In addition to ShoreTel, Ed also co-founded two other prominent companies: Network Computing Devices, where he was vice president of engineering, and Ridge Computers, where he served as vice president of software. He began his career as a software engineer at Hewlett Packard.

Basart, an Iowa native, holds a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He and his son, Eric, are avid bike riders who have taken their shared passion throughout many parts of the world.

As VP of Strategy at Rackspace, Andy Schroepfer’s goal is to quicken the pace that businesses see, and act on, the reality that the future of computing is not about servers, but about service. He calls this the Road to ACE (All Cloud Enterprise), where ACE is a business that operates powerfully without servers, by leveraging the most efficient hosting platform (dedicated or cloud) for their custom apps and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) applications for the rest.

Mr. Lopes has 28 years of sales management, applications and design experience with Toshiba America, Philips Semiconductor, LSI Logic and Xicor and began his career as a systems design engineer at Lockheed Missiles & Space. Mr. Lopes has a BS in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento, and holds an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Joel Smith co-founded AppRiver with CEO Michael Murdoch in 2002, bringing with him more than a decade of experience in the technology sector where he focused primarily on network security and e-mail efficiency. Since AppRiver’s inception, Smith has made it a priority to create and deliver mission-critical applications via a SaaS model. Working alongside a creative 25-person R&D staff, Smith has led the charge to bring secure messaging and Web solutions to more than 45,000 customers worldwide.

Since AppRiver’s earliest days, Smith has played an integral part in the cloud computing revolution. Businesses are always on the lookout for ways to operate more efficiently with a secure infrastructure they can rely on since e-mail and Web security threats continue to evolve and develop on a daily basis. Prior to AppRiver, Smith launched Plugit.com, LLC, a successful hosting and Web application company in Pensacola, Florida. At Plugit.com, he architected a scalable and profitable hosting platform that supported a diverse mix of small, medium and large enterprise customers.

A native of Pensacola, Smith attended the University of West Florida and Troy State University.

Steve Riley is an evangelist and strategist for cloud computing at Amazon Web Services, working to help organizations understand how to address security, privacy, and compliance concerns so that they can integrate the cloud with their existing environments to extend reach, increase utilization, and respond to rapid business changes. His specialties include information security, privacy, compliance frameworks, and policy. Steve has spoken at hundreds of events around the world, including RSA, SANS, Black Hat Windows, InfoSec US, (ISC)2, IANS, TechEd, and Connections. He co-authored a book about Microsoft security and has published numerous articles. Born with an Ethernet cable attached to his belly button, Steve grew up in networking and telecommunications.
