Implementation: Best Practices in Physical Security (Location: Lagoon F) Both video surveillance and building access control security technologies are converging with core IT technologies. In this session, a panel discussion of end users will discuss implementation best practices and end user benefits realized from successful implementations. The end user panel will include customers from retail, law enforcement and city government.

In a year since its launch, IPVS has over 20,000 subscribers, offers award winning content, and is accelerating the adoption of IP video security. Mr. Marier has nine years of enterprise IT consulting, management and technology instructor experience, with an emphasis in technology infrastructure and convergence of voice, video, and data networks. Prior to establishing IPVS, his consulting practice led to the successful acquisition and deployment of 40 million dollars of technology over the past five years. He is an accomplished technical college instructor, has taught over 250 students and lead over 4,000 hours of lecture and hands-on-training classes. Mr. Marier attended the University of St. Thomas and the Control Data Institute. He holds several technical certifications.

Speaker - Lee Caswell, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Pivot3 LEE CASWELL Pivot3 Founder and Chief Marketing Officer Lee is an experienced technology executive with more than twenty years of marketing and management experience in the storage, networking, and digital video markets. Prior to Pivot3, Lee was a corporate officer at Adaptec, where he was VP and General Manager of Adaptec's $350M Storage Solutions Group. Lee managed Adaptec's relationships with OEM customers, led Adaptec's acquisition of IBM's ServeRAID business and launched Adaptec's external storage product line. Prior to Adaptec, Lee was VP Sales and Marketing at Parallax Graphics where he successfully closed funded development relationships with HP and IBM. Lee was a co-founder and Director of Marketing at Kodiak Technology, a LAN startup, and was a marketing analyst at SEEQ Technology, an Ethernet semiconductor company. He spent the first five years of his career in management programs at GE. Lee has a BA from Carleton College where he was a Wingspread Fellow and an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College where he was a Tuck Scholar.
Speaker - Val Oliva, Director of Product Strategy, EBU, Foundry Networks, Inc Val Oliva is the Director of Product Management for Foundry?s Enterprise Business Unit. Oliva is also the President and a board member of the Ethernet Alliance Organization. Before 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) was a standard, Oliva lead the 10 Gigabit Ethernet efforts at Foundry. Oliva was a 10GEA Vice President, a Member of the Board of Directors with the 10GEA, and the Chair of the 10GEA Technical Committee. Oliva led the efforts to demonstrate the first and the largest 10GbE network vendor interoperability. Prior to Foundry, Oliva held a Product Line Management position at Network Equipment Technology. Oliva also spent 10 years building IP networks since 1988, and was employed as a Network Architect and Network Manager at Hewlett-Packard and Bay Networks, respectively.
