Steven Carlini is the Sr Director, Data Center Global Solutions for Schneider Electric. Schneider Electric is the “global specialist in energy management” with 114,000 employees and operations in 190 countries, had 2010 annual sales of $28 billion (€20 billion).

Steven is responsible developing integrated solutions and communicating the value proposition for Schneider Electric’s large data center segment. A frequent speaker at industry conferences and forums, Steven is an expert on the foundation layer of data centers which include Power & Power Distribution, Cooling & Technical Cooling, Rack systems, Physical Security, DCIM & DCFM Management solutions that improve availability and maximize performance.

Prior to joining Schneider Electric, who acquired APC in 2007, Steven ran the UPS Division for Toshiba International Corporation. Involved with the critical power and cooling industry since 1989, Steven has been responsible for guiding the direction of many industry changing products and solutions that solve real customer problems or give businesses competitive advantages.

Steven holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and an MBA in International Business from the CT Bauer School at the University of Houston.

Recep Ozdag is a product marketing manager within the Network Division at Intel. He leads Intel’s SDN switch and router marketing efforts. Prior to this role he was a design manager at Fulcrum Microsystems and has been involved in the design all of the commercial switches and routers that came out of the fabless semiconductor startup that was acquired by Intel in 2011.

Recep Ozdag has received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and his MBA from the University of California Los Angeles.

Sean is Vice President of Technology for the Verisign Network Intelligence and Availability (NIA) group where he is responsible for product and technical architecture and strategy for the Group’s DNS, security and threat intelligence, and DDoS protection services.

He has previously served as CTO of name.com, a “top 20” domain registrar and hosting company; Senior technologist at Neustar; and Director of Engineering at UltraDNS. Prior to that, he ran engineering and operations at several ISP and hosting providers. Sean is a sought after subject matter expert in DDOS, DNS, and cyber security, and has participated in the last two DHS sponsored Cyberstorm (cyber warfare simulation) events.

Mathew Lodge is a Vice President in VMware’s Cloud Services group. Mathew has 20 years’ diverse experience in cloud computing and product leadership. He has built compilers and distributed systems for projects like the International Space Station, helped connect six countries to the Internet for the first time, and managed a $630m router product line at Cisco. Prior to VMware, Mathew was Senior Director at Symantec in its $1Bn+ information management group.

As Vice President of Security Solutions at Radware, Mr. Herberger is responsible for developing, managing, and increasing the company’s security practice and the primary corporate spokesperson in the Americas. Since 2010, Mr. Herberger has lead Radware’s security business product leadership & growth. Frequent guest of Fox Business News, CNN and Bloomberg Broadcast News along with numerous NYT, WSJ and Washington Post citations, Mr. Herberger is considered a foremost expert on the problems and solutions surrounding Cyber Attacks.

Before joining Radware, Carl served as V.P., Security & Compliance, a major East Coast Cloud Security provider based in Philadelphia. While at Evolve IP, was responsible for all aspects of the company’ $MM managed and professional service security offerings including P&L, marketing, pricing, delivery, technology selection and staffing.

Before joining Evolve IP, Carl served as President and Co-founder of Allied InfoSecurity, Inc. – an international provider of best-of-class security consulting and technical compliance services. Prior to his tenure at Allied InfoSecurity, Inc., Carl served as the Information Security Officer for Barclaycard US. In this role, he was responsible for the entire information security program. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Herberger was the senior executive in charge of the SunGard Professional Services IT Security Practice which was recognized as one of the top-five IT security consulting organizations in the U.S. in 2005.

Ian Foo is currently the Director of Data Center Products & Solutions in Huawei USA’s IP Products Enterprise Global Marketing organization. With over 20 years in networking and IT experience, Ian was formerly a Technical Leader at Cisco focusing on Data Center architecture, Data Center Switching platforms, Campus LAN architectures, and security. He has provided “trusted advisor” guidance and consulting to US and Global Fortune 500 corporations, US and International government agencies, educational institutions, and small and medium businesses across a wide range of industry verticals. Ian is also the co-creator, and author of over a dozen issued and pending patents covering various areas in the networking, security, and communications technology space.

Prior to his role at Cisco Ian was a senior network engineer at BBN Planet/GTE Internetworking, one of the original Tier 1 ISPs and firm that created the ARPANET (predecessor and foundation of the internet). AT BBN, he was a senior member of the technical staff responsible for the design, evolution, and sustaining engineering of the BBN (subsequently GTE & Genuity) global backbone and data centers running under the AS 1 and the 4.0.0.0/8 network.

Before exploring the cloud of tomorrow, John Considine, Chief Technology Officer of Verizon Terremark, describes what core characteristics compose today’s cloud, and discusses three fundamental features: independent architectures, multi-tenant infrastructures and the concept of ‘different controls.’

While the cloud is able to house different applications in terms of complexity and criticality, most enterprise applications are not apt for virtualized environments, such as cloud computing. Considine explores the challenges that exist in running enterprise applications, or what he calls the “hard stuff”, and the ideal features future cloud offerings should provide enterprises including security, dependencies, application management and performance.

Krishna Subramanian leads marketing for the Cloud Platforms Group at Citrix where she is responsible for marketing the company’s rapidly growing cloud business –from core products including XenServer, CloudPlatform and CloudPortal to cloud solutions such as IT-as-a-Service. Krishna joined Citrix in May 2011 through the acquisition of Kaviza, the industry leader in easy affordable desktop virtualization. At Kaviza, Krishna served as chief operating officer, marketing, sales and alliances. Prior to Kaviza, Krishna led mergers and acquisitions for the Sun Microsystems Cloud Computing business that delivered over a half-billion dollars of incremental revenue. Before Sun, Krishna was the CEO and co-founder of Kovair, a software-as-a-service CRM company that grew to become a Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Company. Subramanian holds a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She brings over 20 years of industry experience to Citrix in enterprise software, virtualization and cloud computing.

Andre serves IT Infrastructure & Operations Professionals. He is a leading expert on network operations and architecture. His research focuses on networking technology and strategy, mobile network infrastructure, application delivery networking, data center convergence, and network infrastructure security. He helps Forrester clients develop and improve their strategy around infrastructure investment and optimization. His analysis balances technology with business strategy to ensure IT maximizes operational and financial efficiency.

Previous Work Experience: Prior to his role at Forrester, Andre worked for 10 years in the networking industry at HP's networking division and at Cisco Systems as a networking and security marketing manager, assessing the market and driving the creation and adoption of products and solutions to solve complex business challenges. Prior to these roles, he was an engineer who tackled complicated system dynamics for GenCorp Aerojet, a leader in space missile and propulsion. He developed a broad range of skills and quickly evolved into a system integrator, where he ensured the success of a low-cost, reusable rocket program.

Education: Andre graduated from the University of California, Davis, in 1994 and has Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and aeronautical science and engineering. Additionally, he has a pending CISSP certificate from (ISC)2 and has received certificates from UC Davis in network administration and management and routing and switching technologies.

Network Test founder David Newman has been breaking computer networks for 20 years. Today he is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and an active participant in the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force).

As a member of Network World's Lab Test Alliance, Newman has conducted numerous tests of network infrastructure and security devices. He also is the author of RFCs 2647 and 3511, the IETF specifications for firewall performance testing, as well as RFC 4814 on the contents of test traffic. Prior to founding Network Test, Newman served for nearly 10 years as director of lab testing for Data Communications magazine.

Newman is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and New York University.

Phil Fischer is the Data Center Business Development Manager for North America, for APC by Schneider Electric. In this role, Phil is responsible for data center strategy within the IT partner segment.

In his 16 years with APC, Phil has served the company in various sales roles with responsibility for enterprise end users, OEM alliance partners, national channel partners and DC power applications. Phil holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Prashanth Shenoy is a Senior Marketing Manager at the Borderless Solutions Marketing team at Cisco, leading Cisco's Enterprise Routing, Branch Security, and WAN optimization solutions marketing. Previously he was responsible for marketing strategies and initiatives for key IOS technologies for enterprises and Service Provides, including technologies such as MPLS, IPv6, QoS, and multicast. Prashanth joined Cisco in 2000 as part of the core engineering team that designed and developed the routing and forwarding engines for the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series of switches.

Prashanth has represented Cisco in various industry, press, analyst, and customer events.

Prashanth Shenoy holds a Master of Science degree in computer science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from University of California, Berkeley.

Dhritiman Dasgupta (aka DD) is Senior Product Marketing Manager, Fabric and Switching Technologies at Juniper Networks. DD has more than 12 years of experience in the networking industry with roles in product management, corporate marketing, software engineering and customer support. Prior to joining Juniper, he was at Cisco as a Senior Product Line Manager for campus and data center switching. He started his career at Nortel Networks, Canada in the network management team. DD has a bachelor degree in Computer Architecture and an MBA in Marketing and International Business.

Tim Mackey is a corporate evangelist for XenServer and CloudPlatform within the Citrix Cloud Platforms Group and focused on server virtualization and cloud orchestration technical competencies. He joined Citrix through the Reflectent acquisition in 2006, and served as architect and developer for Citrix EdgeSight; an end user experience performance monitoring solution. In 2007, Mr. Mackey became technical product manager for the EdgeSight product line and then in 2009 product manager for the Citrix Essentials self-service virtualization components. Prior to Citrix, Mr. Mackey was an architect and developer at EventZero, and helped to design the first self check-out systems for retailers at Optimal Robotics.

Raj Sabhlok is the President of Zoho Corp (ManageEngine is a division of Zoho Corp). Raj has particular interest in IT management software having spent nearly 20 years at Companies like Embarcadero Technologies, BMC Software and The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO). In his career, Raj has held technical, marketing, sales and executive management positions.

Glenn began his career as a Computer Scientist/Math programmer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories supporting the National Energy Research Super Computer project. He began working with cloud technologies over 13 years ago as the first of four software engineers at Loudcloud where he lead the development efforts of Opsware, the industry’s first cloud operating system, which was eventually acquired by HP. During his time at Loudcloud, he was listed as inventor on several patents related to infrastructure provisioning and, together with Tim Howes, led the formation of DCML through the OASIS standards body (www.dcml.org). Most recently, Glenn was Director of Cloud and Platform Engineering at Netflix. Glenn has served on Advisory boards for Applied Identity (acquired by Citrix), Cordys (www.cordys.com), and is still an active participant on the Advisory board for River Meadow Software (www.rivermeadow.com).

In his current role at HP, Glenn manages the Solution Architects for HP Cloud Services and serves as the conduit into product management and engineering.

Bruce Miller is Vice President, Product Marketing for Xirrus. He has over 20 years of experience bringing LAN and WAN communication products to market in marketing, business development, and engineering roles. At Xirrus, he has led product marketing, product management, customer support, and training functions over time. Prior to Xirrus, he held marketing and engineering roles at Ixia, Lucent, Cabletron, and NetVantage covering technologies including switching, routing, wireless, storage, DSL, and cable. He brought the first video over DSL solution to market and was involved in the development of the original 802.1Q and .1p VLAN and QoS standards in the IEEE. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Monte Giles is director of product management for embedded wireless connectivity products within Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Most recently, he has been leading product development and marketing activities for the Qualcomm GobiTM product family of 3G and 4G mobile broadband solutions from Qualcomm.

Giles brings 15 years of high tech industry experience and knowledge of enterprise IT networking and computing solutions. Prior to Qualcomm, he worked at Intel for eight years in various engineering, product marketing, and business development roles with expertise on PC/Server architecture, wireless technologies, mobility solutions, and IT strategy.

Giles holds a BSEE degree from New Mexico State University and MBA from Babson College.

Mike Karlskind has been working with service organizations for more than 15 years across industries and the world to streamline processes and optimize service decisions – essentially helping businesses break down walls that exist in their organization. As Vice President of Product Marketing, his experience is a collection of lessons from companies in computer services, utilities, telecommunications, capital equipment, home services, retail services, insurance, and medical equipment.

Mike has worked closely with ClickSoftware CEO and Chairman, Dr. Moshe BenBassat to establish ‘ClickSoftware University’, a series of educational sessions intended to assist all types of service organisations on their path to service excellence. Mike is one of the contributors to Clickipedia, our industry blog, and leads executive seminars on the subject of service process efficiency and optimized decision-making. He holds a B.A. (and continuing passion) in mathematics and is a contributor to ClickSoftware’s patent for the "Method and system for assigning human resources to provide services" (US 6,985,872 B2).

Raj Sabhlok is the President of Zoho Corp (ManageEngine is a division of Zoho Corp). Raj has particular interest in IT management software having spent nearly 20 years at Companies like Embarcadero Technologies, BMC Software and The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO). In his career, Raj has held technical, marketing, sales and executive management positions.

Jay Kyathsandra is a Product Marketing Manager focused on Data Center Efficiency solutions, as part of the Intel Data Center and Connected Systems group. Jay, is responsible for product strategy and developing technology roadmap for high density “mega” data center optimization solutions. He is responsible for identifying priority areas of investment, building technology portfolio that accelerates data center efficiency and drive industry adoption. Jay has 20+ years of experience and has led teams in the areas of technology development, marketing, and business development activities, during the startup and ramp of several datacenter and related business units. Educational background includes BS & MS in engineering and MBA.

Eric Dahlen is a Microserver System & Workload Architect and lead technologist for CPG. He is responsible for mapping customer usages and workloads to microserver system level architecture, internal product and technology pathfinding, and technical innovation process. He spent 20 years in server component development, most spent on chipset projects and their associated technologies.

Gregory Spence has been in the desktop virtualization space since 1998 functioning in a variety of roles, including technical sales, business development, product management and marketing. Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Greg worked at HP and Neoware/IBM in roles focused on expanding their thin/zero client businesses. Looking at cloud access from the viewpoint of the IT buyer, Greg has guided development efforts leading to new designs that enhanced the usability, manageability, performance and power consumption of thin/zero clients. With a background in electronics engineering and information systems, Greg’s deep expertise and vision have consistently moved the needle forward, innovating cloud access technology at the endpoint.

Brian Nowlin is the Senior Product Marketing Manager for Mobile PCs with Samsung Electronics America, based in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. He leads strategic initiatives focused on providing business customers with exceptional mobile computing products and experiences, built upon Samsung's cutting edge component technology and design excellence. Prior to joining Samsung, Brian has worked for many years at several leading mobile PC brands.

Shane Pearson is vice president, product management for HP Converged Cloud. In his current role, Pearson is responsible for managing the product lifecycle for HP Converged Cloud products and solutions. Previously he has held various roles in HP Software.
Pearson is a product management and marketing professional with experience as a general manager and technologist at startups and Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to his role at HP, Pearson was senior vice president and general manager of the NetWeaver Product Group at SAP. During his tenure at SAP, he was responsible for managing the worldwide NetWeaver business group including working across business operations, marketing, product management, and development.

Pearson was also previously vice president of products at Gnip, a real-time social media data integration and intelligence provider, where he coordinated product development, marketing and sales. Additionally, Pearson served in various product management and marketing roles at BEA Systems, a provider of enterprise application infrastructure solutions acquired by Oracle in 2008.

Pearson holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management and a master’s degree in management with concentrations in marketing and finance.

Shashi Kiran is the Senior Director, Market Management for Data Center and Switching technologies. In this position, he is responsible for marketing Cisco's $14B+ switching portfolio across Nexus and Catalyst platforms in addition to several other areas.

Previously, Shashi led the marketing efforts of the multi-billion dollar Enterprise Routing team at Cisco as well Cisco's WAAS portfolio marketing. He also was involved in Cisco's SmartGrid strategy at a conceptual stage.

In his 16-year career, Shashi has held leadership roles in the areas of Product Line Management, Marketing and Sales engineering focusing on Security, Routing, Metro Ethernet, and hi-touch services for Enterprise, SP and Public Sector initiatives. Prior to Cisco he worked with Nortel, venture funded start-up Euclid Inc. and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (Dept. of IT, Govt. of India). He was also an editorial consultant and columnist for the Network Magazine (Indian edn.) from 1997-2001.

Vince Ricco is the North American Business Development Manager for the Axis Technology Partner Program. Ricco works with IT hardware providers to showcase the company’s network video surveillance solutions and educate the IT industry on the ongoing technology shift from analog CCTV to IP-based video surveillance. Ricco joins Axis following nearly two decades at Allied Telesis, Inc., a leading manufacturer of Layer 2-7 network hardware and software solutions. He held a variety of positions during his tenure at Allied, from district sales manager to vice president of sales. Most recently, Ricco was a senior network consultant working with end-users and integrators to provide infrastructure guidance for the physical security, transportation and healthcare markets.

Kit Colbert is a Principal Engineer and a Senior Cloud Strategist with the Office of the CTO at VMware. He is the lead architect for the vCenter Operations suite of products, which provides performance, capacity and configuration management optimized for virtualization and cloud environments. Previously, he was the key architect and technical lead for the VMotion and Storage VMotion products from VMware. Kit is noted industry-wide a leader on virtualization memory management topics and vCenter Operations at VMworld, on podcasts and at VMware User Group.

Keith oversees Leviton’s high-performance structured cabling systems, and he brings 23 years of ITS industry experience supporting global customers and identifying the right solutions for their needs. As an active member of TIA and IEEE committees, Keith is closely involved in defining next generation cabling systems standards, and he regularly presents at industry conferences. Leviton experts like Keith create the solutions that make up tomorrow’s cutting-edge networks.

Todd Harpel has 25 years of experience in communications infrastructure design and specification. He holds a M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado, and has designed and implemented communications infrastructure for a variety of clients nationwide. During his career he has managed marketing, product management, technical support and training staffs for several structured cabling industry manufacturers. Todd is now the Director of Business Management for Berk-Tek, a Nexans company, a leading manufacturer of copper and optical fiber communications cable products.

Uday works in close collaboration with global engineering, global sales teams, and leading cloud providers, to define product direction and go to market initiatives across entire Stingray product lineup which includes Application Delivery Controllers, Web application firewall, and Web Content optimization products. During the last 15 years, Uday has held numerous Product Development and Product Management roles in various networking, cloud and virtualization companies. Uday has a Master’s degree in Economics and Computer Science.

Mr. Eli Almog joined CSCTrusted Cloud & Hosting Services in October 2011 and in his new role focuses on architecture, engendering and future direction the CSC Trusted Cloud. Mr. Almog’s career spans 25 years of sustained delivery of robust high scale infrastructure systems to create the most scalable solutions to meet a company’s computing needs. Most recently Mr. Almog served as Vice President R&D and Corporate Architect in the Office of the CTO for BMC Software, a leading enterprise software vendor. Over a 3 year tenure with BMC, Mr. Almog orchestrated a turnaround of the company’s second largest line of business (Service Assurance) and provided the technical vision for BMC’s entry into the cloud market.

Prior to joining BMC Software, Mr. Almog held multiple executive roles at Morgan Stanley. His experience ranges from design, engineering, integration and development of technical solutions for Unix/Windows and enterprise distributed management including monitoring and automated management of vendor products and custom in house developed solutions operating in large scale environments.

Following service as Captain in the Israeli Army, Mr. Almog earned his technical degree as a Practical Engineer with emphases in Computer Science and Data Processing from
Haddash College Jerusalem.

Morgan Gerhart is Sr. Director, Products for the Citrix Networking and Cloud product group, responsible for virtualization and cloud connectivity for the NetScaler product line. Mr. Gerhart has over 15 years of industry experience in product management, marketing and as an industry analyst. Prior to joining Citrix, Mr. Gerhart held marketing roles with Nokia Enterprise Solutions, and was a lead analyst with the Meta Group, where he specialized in the design, selection and implementation of application infrastructure. Mr. Gerhart holds a B.S. from Cornell University.
