He has been covering technology leadership and strategy issues for InformationWeek since 1999. In this capacity, he led 800+ employees across 9 countries and 14 locations to orchestrate a global product development strategy for the emerging smartgrid market. Prior to that Mr. Rogers held the role of general manager of quality for GE's Energy Engineering division and managed a $30M operation with broad-based authority to drive organizational changes and improvements in engineering quality. He also served as product line leader for the GE's GenGauge and Coalogic product lines. Prior to GE, Mr. Rogers was a software engineering leader and corporate stakeholder in Praxis Engineers, which was acquired by GE Energy in 2001. Mr. Rogers has been the recipient of numerous GE accolades, namely the Energy Engineering "Product Quality" award, GE Quality Leadership award, and Energy Cup award for productivity and risk Reduction initiatives. In addition, he was awarded a U.S. patent for the year-long development of the GenGauge enterprise software product serving as the product visionary. Mr. Rogers earned his MS in Chemical Engineering from San Jose State University and his BS in Chemical Engineering from San Jose State University. Panelist - Steve Gereb, Avnet Senior Director of Embedded Software and Services Group, Avnet Panelist - Manjit Singh, Former CIO, Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Chiquita Brands International Manjit Singh most recently served as Las Vegas Sands Corp (NYSE:LVS) Global Chief Information Officer. Mr. Singh was responsible for LVS’ global information systems in North America, Macau, and Singapore. Mr. Singh set the strategic direction and governance for all technology initiatives at LVS with an emphasis on setting consistent standards across all LVS properties encompassing casino, hospitality, retail, F&B, marketing, and back office systems. Panelist - Kevin Hooper, Senior Vice President, NEC Corporation of America Kevin Hooper is Senior Vice President of NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading provider and integrator of advanced IT, networking, communications and biometric solutions for the enterprise, government and carrier market.
