Speaker - Kevin Kennedy, President & Chief Executive Officer, Avaya Kevin Kennedy is the president and chief executive officer of Avaya. Avaya is a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services. Prior to joining the company in January 2009, Kennedy served as president and CEO of JDS Uniphase Corporation, a position he held since September 2003. He had also served as a member of the JDSU board of directors since November 2001. Before joining JDSU, Kennedy served as chief operating officer of Openwave Systems, Inc., a position he held from August 2001 to September 2003. Prior to joining Openwave Systems, Kennedy spent close to eight years at Cisco Systems, Inc., most recently as senior vice president of the Service Provider Line of Business and Software Technologies Division. Earlier in his career, Kennedy spent 17 years with AT&T Bell Laboratories, serving in a number of assignments in the Lincroft, Holmdel, and Middletown, New Jersey locations. During his Bell Labs tenure, he also lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio as part of the Conversant voice information system team, in the AUDIX Voice Messaging organization. In 1987, Kennedy was a congressional fellow to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space and Technology. He was a member of the board of directors of Polycom, Inc. until January 2009. He currently serves on the board of directors of KLA-Tencor Corporation and is a member of the board of regents of Loyola Marymount University. Kennedy holds a B.S. in engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Rutgers University. He was an adjunct professor at Rutgers from 1982-1984 and has published more than 30 papers on computational methods, data networking and issues of technology management. In 2006, Kennedy was honored by the School of Engineering at Rutgers as their Alumnus of the Year and awarded an Alumni Medal of Excellence. He is a co-author of "Going the Distance: Why Some Companies Dominate and Others Fail," published in 2003. Speaker - Marius Haas, Senior VP and GM, HP ProCurve Networking Speaker - Brett Galloway, Senior Vice President, Wireless, Security, and Routing Technology Group, Cisco Brett Galloway serves multiple executive roles within Cisco. In his primary role as Senior Vice President of Cisco’s Wireless, Security, and Routing Technology Group, Galloway leads a high-growth set of businesses for wireless LAN, broadband wireless WAN, access routing, network access control, policy management, and security products. Galloway also serves as the Senior Vice President responsible for the Borderless Networks business solutions from the Cisco Development Organization. One of the company’s top priorities, Borderless Networks combine core routing and switching infrastructure with advanced technologies for improved mobility, security, and application performance. They enable organizations to be more agile with a services-based network that securely supports new business models for customers. Galloway also serves as chairman of Cisco’s Mobility Board, promoting an open mobile IP network platform for the merging of mobile data and applications that deliver a new workspace experience seamlessly connecting anyone, anywhere, anytime. Galloway joined Cisco in 2005 and held several executive positions and most notably oversaw the introduction and success of the Cisco Unified Wireless line of products for the business-class wireless LAN market. He joined Cisco through the acquisition of Airespace, where he served as President and CEO. During his tenure, Airespace rose to the third-largest company in the enterprise WLAN market in 20 months and won more than 25 industry awards. Before that, he was cofounder of Packeteer, a provider of WAN traffic optimization solutions that he helped take through an IPO in 1999. While there, he filled a number of other executive roles, including Vice President of Engineering, COO, and Interim CEO. Previously, he served as Director of Engineering for Metricom, where he was instrumental in the design, deployment, and commercial launch of the pioneering Ricochet wireless Internet service. Galloway’s record of more than 20 years of delivering breakthrough networking and wireless products and services includes a number of patent achievements as well as executive-level management. He is a frequently requested keynote speaker and panelist for high-profile industry events. Galloway holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Speaker - Randy Mott, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Hewlett Packard Company Randy Mott is executive vice president and chief information officer of HP, responsible for the global information technology (IT) strategy and all of the company's IT assets. This includes company-wide application development, data management, technology infrastructure, data center operations and telecommunication networks worldwide. Mott's vision and leadership approach has garnered him global recognition in leading transformational initiatives focused on optimizing IT as a business. In June 2007, he received the "Roger Milliken Career Achievement Award" from the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions Association for his dedication and contributions to enabling the retail and consumer-focused industries through the creation and implementation of supply chain standards and best practices. Previously, Mott was senior vice president and chief information officer for Dell, Inc., which he joined in 2000. He was responsible for managing that company's global IT infrastructure, which included the backbone of its extensive Internet and web-based capabilities. Mott significantly enhanced the company's IT executive talent and focused the organization on global, scalable and common systems. Prior to Dell, Mott spent 22 years at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., where he held a variety of technical and management positions and pioneered retail and supply-chain systems automation. In 1994, Mott was named senior vice president and chief information officer and for the next six years Wal-Mart almost tripled in revenue and its IT group earned a "best-of-class" reputation as it cost-effectively leveraged global and common IT systems. In 1996, Mott was promoted to Wal-Mart's executive committee and in 1997 InformationWeek named him "Chief of the Year." Mott has a bachelor of science in mathematics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. In 2005, he was named in the Fulbright College Alumni Academy as a Distinguished Alumni.
